IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE UNDERGOING AN X-RAY EXAMINATION
Valid Referral:
The patient must have a paper referral signed by a doctor or an e-referral that can be printed. According to § 3, section 2 of the regulation of the Minister of Health dated February 18, 2011, on the conditions for the safe use of ionizing radiation, an X-ray examination can only be performed based on a written referral, which forms part of the medical documentation. A valid referral is required to ensure that the X-ray examination is conducted legally and safely.
After the examination, the original referral must remain at the clinic. A copy of the referral can be provided upon request.A valid referral includes:
- Patient details:
Full name, date of birth, PESEL number (or passport number). - Doctor’s details:
Full name, specialization, medical license number, doctor’s signature. - Detailed description of the examination:
The type of X-ray to be performed (e.g., chest, spine, hip joint).
• Information about any additional projections required (e.g., “AP + Lateral”). - Clinical indication:
Reason for the examination, e.g., symptoms, preliminary diagnosis, suspected condition. - Date of referral issuance:
The date on which theŚ referral was issued. - Information on prior examinations (if applicable):
History of previous X-ray examinations, if needed for comparison of results. - Signature and seal of the medical facility (or private medical practice):
Name and address of the medical facility where the referring doctor is employed.

Prices for Projections:
The prices for X-ray projections range from 110 PLN to 280 PLN. A doctor may order more than one projection, e.g., “AP + Lateral” = 2 projections, or a comparative projection. Each additional projection incurs additional charges. The X-ray price includes the image and its description.Medical Consultation:
The cost of a consultation with a doctor ranges from 280 PLN to 380 PLN for reviewing the results. If a referral from outside the LIFE Medical Center contains incomplete or incorrect information, our doctors (if time permits) may provide a brief consultation to issue a proper referral. This consultation may incur an additional charge of up to 100 PLN, depending on the situation.Waiting Time for Results:
The X-ray image will be recorded on a CD and handed to the patient on the day of the examination. The examination report will be available within 10 working days. For chest X-rays, the report will be ready within 48 hours.Children Under 16 Years of Age:
Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The parent or legal guardian is required to present an identity document. In cases where the child is not accompanied by a parent or guardian, a written authorization from the parent is required to perform the X-ray examination.Patient Preparation:
Depending on the type of examination, the patient may be asked to:- Remove clothing from the part of the body to be examined.
- Remove jewelry and other metal objects that could interfere with the X-ray image.
Safety:
X-ray examinations are safe; however, pregnant women should inform the doctor about their condition before the examination to minimize any potential risks.
Before undergoing an X-ray examination, it is advisable to ensure that all required information and documents are complete to facilitate a smooth process.
